GIGI HADID'S STUART WEITZMAN BOOT IS HERE

Stuart Weitzman announced that Gigi Hadid, a model who is good at Instagram (and is also the face of the brand's fall 2016 campaign), would be designing a limited-edition namesake boot this season — and on Tuesday, that style was revealed with a new short film.
Directed by fellow multihyphenate James Franco, the clip shows Hadid in her natural habitat — the boxing ring, where she tapes a majority of her commercials (see: MaybellineReebok, etc.) and spends her off days working out — wearing her Gigi Boot, which is apparently durable enough for such collision sports.
The shoe itself is a hiker-inspired, lace-up bootie with a combat silhouette, set on a stacked heel with metallic eyelets, duo-toned laces and a detailed collar. It comes in three colorways so, as the press release notes, "there are multiple options for her style squad." Part of the Gigi Boot's proceeds will go towards the non-profit Pencils of Promise, as the brand has committed to building three schools worldwide in Ghana, Guatemala and Laos.

"I was really thinking of myself in New York, running around everywhere during the day and at night," Hadid told Vogue about the boot's design process. "I was always able to come up with the look for the shoe in my brain, but they were a bit harder to execute than clothing." She continued: "These designs have the ability to go from sexy to sporty, and they have an agility to them but a gracefulness at the same time." Hadid is fresh off of her much-hyped fall collaboration (and epic runway show) with Tommy Hilfiger, so we anticipate this will not be her last foray into accessory design.

The Gigi Boot starts at $565 for the metallic styles and goes up to $598 for the croco-calf version, and is available at Stuart Weitzman retail locations and global websites.
