The Un-Boring Neutral Nail Polish That Makes Karina Beam With Hometown Pride

OPI Washington D.C. Nail Lacquer Collection in "Inside the ISABELLEtway", $10, available at Ulta Beauty
There are certain products that I feel predisposed to love, even before I get around to actually trying them. OPI's most recent collection, inspired by Washington, D.C., jointly played to my love of nail polish and to the soft spot I have for my hometown.

Even though I'm very happy to now call the Big Apple home, I'm always happy to return to the nation's capital for a weekend and be surrounded by government buildings and familiar monuments. The classicism of the city is reflected in the entire range, which includes everything from gorgeous jewel tones to pretty neutrals that are every bit as chic as they are office-appropriate. (It is D.C., after all.) My favorite is this caramel crème, the perfect medium tan that I know will look great with my skin tone  — nude and tan polishes are definitely not a "one-size-fits-all" thing — and my fall wardrobe of black and grey. This one is also a close dupe for a limited edition OPI shade from 2011's Texas collection called San Tan-Tonio. (1. These names, right? and 2. I wasn't kidding about my obsession with nail polish.)
