Metallic and Monochromatic Looks Dominated This Week's Best Dressed

Any fashion enthusiast can tell you that it takes a lot of finesse to pull off white-on-white, as there are infinite scenarios in which that sartorial choice can go south. What happens if (or, in my case, when) you spill? What if the fabric's too clingy?
What do you do in the off chance of a sudden downpour? The list goes on. But, if you're a celebrity — meaning that you have a well-equipped stylist at your disposal and don't have to stand outside for more than just a few photos — it's a lot less risky to attempt the chic, monochromatic look.
This week, several of our favorite style stars stepped out in head-to-toe white, which is an ideal ensemble for any steamy, mid-July night. Nicole Richie celebrated her longtime friend and colleague Rachel Zoe's capsule collection for Net-a-Porter in a pair of wide-leg white pants paired with an open silk blouse, channeling the '70s vibes that the stylist-turned-designer has made her signature. Elsewhere, Kristen Stewart was every bit the tomboy in a badass white suit by The Kooples. She completed her look with easy loafers, black Wayfarers and a bright lip.
For those who didn't go the monochromatic route, metallics were just as popular: Alicia Vikander stunned in a silver, sequined dress by Louis Vuitton, and Zendaya Coleman proved her rising star status in a gold bow crop-top by Moschino.
