Each Fashion Month is not only defined by the trends seen on the runways, but also by the items captured by the street style photographers outside the shows. (Case-in-point: Adidas Stan Smiths.)

As the street style machine continues to move forward, the trends sported by its stars get more outrageous and interesting. Take a look at the items and styles we're predicting will rule the sidewalks this Fashion Month below.

PAULA CADEMARTORI HANDBAGS

The Brazilian-Italian designer's bags made a splash at Couture Fashion Week in Paris and are likely to stay slung on the arms of the street style starlets all season long. Cademartori's designs are brightly colored and often rhinestoned, making them the perfect accessory for those looking to be photographed.

SANDY LIANG COATS

New York designer Sandy Liang might only be in her early twenties, but she's already building a recognizable brand. Her fur coats are already being worn by Kate Foley and Soo Joo Park, and we expect her reach to grow after her debut at NYFW this week.

SOPHISTICATED HEELS

Later, sneakers (sort of -- we do expect Marc by Marc Jacobs's BMX-inspired sneakers to pop up, well, everywhere). With Aquazzura releasing its Olivia Palermo collab just in time for Fashion Week, Malone Souliers launching at Bergdorf Goodman and Gianvito Rossi continuing to produce some of the sexiest heels in the world, the return of the power pump is nigh.

PINK OUTERWEAR

Even if it's not actually cold enough for coats, you can bet that the fashion set are going to be sporting their fair share of pink outerwear. Yes, you read that right. The biggest trend of street style seasons past is going to continue into fall, but with options as sumptuous as the Shrimps coat above or as sleek as the Tibi one, you can't be too mad.

RAIN GEAR

Perhaps the best thing that could happen at NYFW would be rain. With Miu Miu's waterproof collection hitting stores during the shows and retailers selling cooler rain gear than ever before, a September shower would definitely turn up the fashion on the streets.

MARC BY MARC JACOBS

Being among the first people photographed in Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley's debut Marc by Marc Jacobs collection will be a badge of honor, and so you can be sure that many editors, models, stylists and fashion show goers will be showing up in the ninja rave stylings.

GLITTER SHOES

There was really never a trend more perfect for street style than glitter shoes. With options from brands like Miu Miu and Saint Laurent, the Dorothy-styled shoes are definitely having their high fashion moment.

KARLITO

You didn't think we were going to forget Karlito, did you? The real questions is, though, which street style star will be spotted with him first? Our money's on Anna Dello Russo.
