Could we please never, ever speak of this now debunked "no white after Labor Day" rule again? Because if the fall 2014 and spring 2015 runways have anything to say about it: All white is ayear-round thing. Like denim or a little black dress. And even if you're rocking a no-pigment, monochrome look, there are so many ways to make your white on white stand out as much as a bright print or color. Doubtful? Take a look at how these five designers did it at New York Fashion Week:
Speaking of jeans, Frame Denim showed a myriad of ways to work an all-alabaster outfit: from a crisp button-down countered by distressed skinnies to to a floor-length, mostly unbuttoned, button-up dress over shorts (although Kendall Jenner may have already called dibs on that look).
World traveler Ulla Johnson paired eggshell-hued fringy sweater, which was loomed by hand in Peru, with a pair of Moroccan-inspired white and off-white vertical-striped wide-leg pants.
For an edgy-feminine look, celeb-favorite Tanya Taylor layered a paper-white laser-cut moto jacket over a matching knee-length dress.
Prabal Gurung paid homage to a springtime trek in the Himalayas with a short-sleeved utilitarian jacket over a feather-flecked top and skirt with a cloud-like silk scarf accent billowing in the breeze.
