RUMOR: KANYE WEST HAS CANCELLED YEEZY SEASON 6 SHOW

We knew we'd have something to write about Kanye West's Yeezy Season 6 show this New York Fashion Week, but we did not expect that it would be concerning its (possible) cancellation. As of Wednesday afternoon, according
to a source involved with the show and whomever mans The Man Repeller's Twitter account, the show has been cancelled. The reason for the collection's sudden removal from the schedule could not immediately be learned, and reps for the brand declined to either comment or confirm this news.
While details like a date, time or location had yet to be publicized, WWDreported in July that West and Adidas were planning a Season 6 show in New York and had been in talks with NYFW's governing body, the CFDA, on choosing a slot that did not interfere with other designers' events.
It seems that it's always something with this show — whether it's kidnapping (and stranding) editors on Roosevelt Island in the sweltering heat, starting beef with the CFDA and other designers by picking a disruptive show time, or controversial casting methods. Last season, though, West toned things downand seemed set on winning the fashion industry's forgiveness. Not only did he do just that, the collection was a hit among critics and fans.
We don't yet know what this means for the label or West's public image, but we will certainly report back once we get more information.
